Renewed Call to Action - Support DACA

Dear Colleagues,

First, we thank you for your unwavering support of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). DACA enables brilliant students and young professionals to have a deep and meaningful impact. Your action last year made a critical difference to thousands of young people.

Threats to end this vital program place nearly 800,000 beneficiaries of DACA at risk. We are asking you, as college and university presidents, to call on our country’s leaders to protect these young people and institute a legislative solution to support a permanent path forward.

Ending DACA means that these young people – Americans in all but legal status – will be vulnerable to deportation. They will lose their ability to contribute fully to our campuses, to our communities and to our country. Their loss, and that of other undocumented young people, is fundamentally our country’s loss.

We must act now. This is both a moral imperative and a national necessity.

We urge you to take a few brief moments right now to call your elected representatives and policy contacts and ask for their support for legislative remedies. We are strongest when we act collectively and speak out firmly together.
