What is the Summer Math Experience?

The Math 1-2-1 Experience is a dynamic online program designed for incoming college first-years—no matter your academic interests. Math skills are foundational to your academic journey at Pomona.

Through a blend of academic rigor, collaborative projects, and fun social activities, you’ll get a head start on college-level math, build relationships with peers and faculty, and learn how to thrive in a college setting.

How It Works

Math Skill-Building

• Brush up on core math concepts through guided lessons and interactive practice.
• Taught by experienced faculty and supported by peer mentors.
• Designed to meet students where they are—whether you need a refresher or a challenge.

Group Work & Collaboration

Course Selection & Academic Planning

• Learn how math fits into Pomona’s liberal arts curriculum—and how to choose the right first-year math courses.
• Get support from academic advisors and explore department pathways.
