Campus Climate Assessment Process and Timeline

Climate is defined by Rankin & Associates as the current attitudes and behaviors of faculty, staff, administrators and students, as well as institutional policies and procedures, which influence the level of respect for individual needs, abilities and potential.

The campus climate assessment will help Pomona College add to their knowledge base with regard to how students, faculty and staff currently experience the campus climate. Pomona will use the results of the assessment to inform on-going work regarding issues of campus climate our community.

Timeline

Phase I – During the first phase of the process, Rankin & Associate held an initial proposal meeting and will hold focus groups in November 2019.

Phase II – This phase will involve the development of the assessment tool (survey) in late fall semester and early spring semester.

Phase III – In the 2020 spring semester, Rankin & Associates will administer the survey. Please note that the survey deadline has been extended to May 8.

Phase IV – Rankin & Associates will submit the final report to the Pomona College community in fall 2020 and give a presentation of the results.

Phase V – During the last phase which is projected to take place during late 2020, the CSWG will develop action initiatives with the Pomona College community and under the direction of Rankin & Associates.
