Pomona College rolled out the proverbial blue carpet Saturday for new Sagehens ready for the first day of the next four years of their lives.
Move-In Day annually marks the start of a new school year, a celebratory milestone that always elicits a range of emotions from the parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and grandparents who played a part in getting their student to Sixth Street.
“Nobody who’s at Pomona got here on their own, and to see this wave of support, this spirit and shared joy coming with these students is amazing,” President G. Gabrielle Starr said Saturday between greeting new families in the shadow of Mudd-Blaisdell Hall.
“It’s a pageantry of humanity.”
