While other students scatter for jobs, internships and research opportunities, more than a dozen members of the Pomona-Pitzer baseball program usually pack up their gear to go play in collegiate summer leagues in the U.S. and Canada.

This summer Kirby Lam ’23 and Saomai Nguyen ’23 are living on campus while conducting research as part of SURP.

The PAYS program gives rising 10^th through 12^th graders from groups underrepresented in higher education a full-immersion experience at Pomona College over three summers, fully free of charge.

Nine Pomona College faculty members have been promoted for their teaching, research and service. The Board of Trustees approved these promotions, effective July 1.

Jared Mejia '22, a computer science major and math minor, received the Rena Gurley Archibald High Scholarship Prize, served as a captain for the Pomona-Pitzer men's soccer team and placed on First Team All-SCIAC.
