International & Domestic Programs Student Identity and Experiences

Pomona College students embody diverse backgrounds and come from all 50 states and around the world. These unique identities are shaped, challenged, strengthened, and transformed when students choose to participate in international and domestic programs and engage with different cultures, languages, ideas, and communities. The complex intersectionality of one’s identity can play a role in deciding where to study, what program to choose, and how to prepare, as it will most likely influence how you experience your host city and country as well as other places you travel (You may wish to refer to DA Global: Articles and Resources and the CIEE DEI city pages). We hope that the resources below will provide you with some tools, skills, and knowledge to help you navigate your own identities as you prepare for and experience your time away.
