Dear Friends,
Pomona has always been shaped by people who refused to accept that there was only one way to educate, one way to lead, or one way to imagine the future.
When our founders set out to establish a college, they brought with them the traditions of New England. What they discovered instead was California: a place that encouraged bigger questions, broader perspectives, and new possibilities. What began as an effort to replicate became an opportunity to invent.
That spirit continues to define Pomona today.
Our students come here not simply to acquire knowledge, but to become more fully themselves. They learn to think across disciplines, challenge assumptions, embrace complexity, and imagine what does not yet exist. They leave prepared not only for successful careers, but for lives of purpose and impact.
This campaign is about ensuring that Pomona remains a place where exceptional students can thrive regardless of financial circumstance, where faculty continue to redefine what a liberal arts education can be, and where bold ideas become meaningful change.
The priorities of Originals: The Campaign for Pomona College will shape Pomona’s next chapter. They are ambitious because the world our students will inherit demands nothing less. With your partnership, we will strengthen everything that makes Pomona extraordinary while creating new opportunities for generations of Sagehens to come.
Thank you for your belief in Pomona and for your commitment to the future we are building together.
With gratitude,
G. Gabrielle Starr
President
