Dear Sagehens,
This past Friday, the Task Force for Shared Governance convened to discuss the thoughtful feedback we received from members of our community about the draft version of Pomona’s Statements of Shared Governance and Principles for Decision Making.
First, we want to extend our gratitude to those of you who took the time to submit your ideas. Your contributions are helping us shape not just the next iteration of the Statements, but also the initial drafts of the other foundational documents included in this effort—namely the Decision Matrix and Threshold Conditions. This is a complex process, but please know we are reviewing every piece of feedback, and that all of your submissions are being considered as we continue this work.
While we initially provided a deadline of October 14, we’ve decided to extend the feedback window for the Statements to October 30. The primary reason for this is to accommodate upcoming engagement opportunities, including a Student Webinar on October 22, and both the Staff Forum and Faculty conversation on October 28.
Beyond October 30, there will be additional opportunities for the community to review and comment on future drafts of the Task Force’s work—on these Statements, as well as on the other documents the Task Force is creating. We will share those opportunities with you soon.
Thank you again for your participation.
Sincerely,
