Bicycles and skateboards are a preferred way of getting around campus
Pomona values the individual in an uncommon way -- that is, not in a way that breeds egoism or self-satisfaction, but in a way that benefits the communities of which we are all part. We value the individual as a human being with the potential to enrich the world, to make it a more desirable place to be.
For that reason, Pomona approaches undergraduate education with a tremendously generous spirit. The central question that drives us is this: What if we gave students – the most academically skilled, most insatiably curious, most enviably talented students – the opportunity to explore every possibility that piqued their interest? What if, on top of that, they traveled their paths in a community of willing collaborators, surrounded by people who share the same degree of focus, the same drive to succeed? Wouldn't that investment make the world a more inviting, more habitable place?
