39th Woodford-Eckis Lectureship

The Geology Department is pleased to announce that the 39th annual Woodford-Eckis lectureship will be held on February 12th and 13th, 2019.

This year’s honored guest is Prof. Tracy Gregg. (University at Buffalo). Prof. Gregg is an expert on planetary volcanology. She has a particular interest in volcanoes on Mars and Venus, and in volcanic activity elsewhere in the solar system.

FEBRUARY 12th

At 8:15 PM in the Rose Hills Theater (Smith Campus Center), Prof. Gregg will deliver a lecture entitled “21st Century Mars: Our Changing Views of the Red Planet”  This talk is intended for a general audience, and is open to the public.

FEBRUARY 13th

At 11AM in the Rose Hills Theater (Smith Campus Center), Prof. Gregg will deliver a lecture entitled “Driving in the Dark: Exploring Mid-Ocean Ridges as an Analog to Venus”  This talk is also intended for a general audience, and is also open to the public.
