43rd Woodford-Eckis Lectureship and Centennial Celebrations

The Pomona College Geology Department is pleased to announce that the 43rd annual Woodford-Eckis Lectureship will be held from Friday, February 17th to Sunday, February 19th 2023.

Our honored lecturer is Professor Emily H.G. Cooperdock from the University of Southern California/Brown University.

Professor Cooperdock will give the first lecture "Does Mantle Weathering Help Maintain a Habitable Planet?" in the Rose Hills Theater at 8:15PM on Saturday, February 18th.

This will be followed by a second lecture "Weaving Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into Geoscience Education" at 11AM on Sunday, February 19th. 

The Geology Department is also pleased to commemorate our centennial year with a series of special events through the weekend, including talks by alumni from the 1970s-2000s, on Friday evening and again Saturday morning.
