Standing Together After New Zealand

Dear Pomona Students,

We are writing to you with deep sadness following the horrific acts of violence carried out against worshippers at mosques in New Zealand.

We stand with our students and community in rejecting this hate targeting Muslims on the other side of the Pacific. The unfathomable and sickening violence is felt close to home for us. While many are away from campus this week, this is still  a time to check in with and support one another.

Our staff is available to support anyone affected by these acts; please do not hesitate to be in touch.

Key resources include:

  • Monsour Counseling & Psychological Services (MCAPS) at 909-621-8202.
  • For after-hours emergencies, call (909) 621-8202 and dial “1” when prompted to be connected with an on-call therapist.

In the face of hatred and violence, let us stand together as a compassionate community working for peace.

With care and with you,

President Starr and Dean Hinkson
