I’m Adelina (she/her) and I grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona. My favorite things are traveling, cheerleading, and music. I go to Pomona College and am majoring in Science, Technology and Society. Fun fact: I hold Dual Citizenship to the Netherlands and the United States!

Program: Pomona College Community Engagement Center (PCCEC)

I am a 4th-year student studying Neuroscience at Scripps College! My hometown is Hong Kong, and I am a DCC for HealthBridges, particularly for Educational Outreach. I have been with HealthBridges since my first year at the Claremont Colleges, and I have loved my time thus far. In addition to HealthBridges, I co-lead the Claremont Colleges Project Sunshine Chapter and am a KeckSci Pre-Health Mentor.

Hi! My name is Audrey (she/her) and I am a sophomore at Pomona, majoring in applied math and music with a minor in economics. I grew up in Hong Kong and now live in Denver, CO. I have been playing the violin since I was 3 and music has played a major role in my life ever since, which is why I am so passionate about accessibility to music education. Outside of class, you may find me reading, crafting, DJing on KSPC, working out, or dancing at rock shows! I am so excited to begin my first year as a coordinator for Music Mentors and witness our mentees grow as musicians!!
 

I'm a student at Claremont McKenna College, originally from Montpelier, Vermont. I was first introduced to music through a community program much like this one, an experience that shaped my belief in making music accessible to every kid, regardless of background. Since then, I've played instruments across genres from Cape Breton folk and Irish traditional music to indie, rock, and country, and I currently perform in both a bluegrass band and an indie rock band at CMC. I have taught at music summer camps and mentored a student in guitar through Music Mentors. I am super excited to be a part in shaping and growing this amazing program!
 

Hello! My name is Cheyeon Shin (she/her), and I'm a Junior at Scripps College studying Molecular Biology. My hometown is Seoul, South Korea, but I currently live in the Bay Area. I am one of the coordinators for the Hospital Task pod of Health Bridges; our goal is to provide equitable, culturally competent, and accessible healthcare for limited English proficient and underserved individuals in the Inland Empire and greater LA County. I will specifically be working on expanding our program to the San Antonio Regional Hospital. Outside of classes and Health Bridges, I love cooking/baking, playing tennis, playing flute, trying/making new coffee drinks, and finding new artists to listen to (I'm always open to suggestions---please give me your fav song recs!).

You can see me almost everywhere! I don't know how I will find the time to do these things, but I will make it happen! I'm a Posse scholar coming from Chicago, IL and have fallen in love with SoCal weather. Other than running track and field and participating in different clubs and organizations, you can find me in any of the 7 dining halls eating, or in the gym if I'm feeling motivated. Hello! My name is Chimuanya (she/her), but my friends call me Chim, and I am one of the Sista 2 Sista coordinators this year at the Draper Center. I have looked forward to stepping into this role since my freshman year, when I began volunteering with Sista 2 Sista and witnessed the program’s thoughtful mission and its ability to foster beautiful, meaningful connections. I am excited to build upon this initiative by creating an even more nurturing environment where participants feel supported, celebrated, and empowered to form lasting relationships through mentorship. Outside of my work at the Draper Center, I am a neuroscience major interested in pursuing psychiatric research and exploring how science can support mental health and well-being. I am originally from East Hartford, Connecticut, and I deeply value community, curiosity, and opportunities to learn from and uplift the people around me.

Hi! I’m Sakeenah, a sophomore at Pomona College and a Program Coordinator for Sister2Sister. I love being part of a program centered on mentorship and community, and I especially value getting to know students and creating spaces where they feel supported, confident, and celebrated. At Pomona, my interest lies in politics, writing, and learning more about the people and perspectives around me. Outside of Sister2Sister, I love writing poetry, reading books, sitting out on the Quad whenever there’s sun, and squeezing in a spin or yoga class when I can. Hi! My name's Kitty (she/her), and I'm a senior at Pomona. I coordinate for Leadership and Engagement in Gender and Sexuality (LEGS), which is an awesome program where we connect college students with queer high schoolers local to the area. I love this program because I can imagine how much my younger self would have appreciated something like this when I was in high school. I'm originally from London, UK, and I'm majoring in Politics. Outside of LEGS, I love doing pilates, baking, drawing, playing pickleball and exploring new places with my friends.

Holis!! My name is Yosselin and I am a senior at Scripps majoring in Latin American Studies. I was born in a beautiful town in Cabañas, El Salvador. I currently reside in Koreatown, Los Angeles, a place with many coffee shops and restaurants (I have so many recs!). At Draper, I am a coordinator for LINC, a wonderful program I have been part of since my freshman year. I am very passionate about education and supporting the small learners in our community. In my free time, I enjoy going to coffee shops with my friends, journaling about my major life events, and listening to musica urbana.

Hi, I'm Maggie (she/her)! I'm a senior at Pomona majoring in U.S. history with a focus on gender, labor, and social justice history. I've been a member of FRN/HHI since sophomore year, and I'm so excited to be one of the coordinators this year. I'm especially excited to grow the educational and outreach side of the program this year. Outside of Draper, I sing in the choir and Glee Club, and I take ballroom dance classes. In my free time, I enjoy doing crossword puzzles, hiking, and learning to crochet!

Hi there my name is Mark (He/Him) I am a Junior Economics-Accounting major at Pitzer college. I am going to be one of the PCCEC coordinators this year. I really enjoy video games and the outdoors if I'm not online, I am probably hiking or camping. This will be my second year with PCCEC, and I am excited to see how we can engage the campus with the city more this year.

Audrey Park (she/her) is a junior at Pomona College studying Economics and serves as the Community Partnerships Coordinator for Health Bridges. Originally from Chicago, she is now based in New York City. Outside of school and work, Audrey loves traveling, playing card games, spending time with her family, and playing with her two dogs and cat.

I'm Jose (he/him) and I'm a sophomore at Pitzer College studying engineering through the 3+2 Engineering program! I'm also a first-generation student raised in Southeast LA. This is my second semester serving as a coordinator for the 5C Rooftop Garden and I could not be more excited for what we have planned! Growing up amongst insufficient green space and environmental racism that continues to persist in my community has propelled me to facilitate the positive effects of the outdoors to youth in a safe and educational way. My hobbies include hiking, going to concerts and trying coffee shops all around LA! Stop by the rooftop garden, everyone is welcome!

Hi all! My name is Lily Watkins (she/her). I'm a Scripps senior majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Bioethics, with the hope of pursuing medicine centered around women's health. I'm originally from Davis, California. This will be my second year coordinating for Learning IN Collaboration (LINC), and fourth as a volunteer! My passion for educational justice comes alongside a love for science communication and working with kids. It's been an incredible experience connecting with teachers, PUSD administrators, and of course the students themselves across my time with LINC. In my free time I bake, read, attempt to practice piano (poorly) and enjoy a few too many cheesy rom-coms. I look forward to working with the Draper Center this year!

In addition to Rooftop Garden, I play viola in the Claremont Concert Orchestra, and I’m a TA for intro biology. In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, and practicing martial arts.

Hi, my name is Matthew (he/him), and I am a senior at Pomona majoring in neuroscience and minoring in music. I am from Los Angeles, CA, and this is my third year coordinating for Music Mentors! I have played both violin and piano for most of my life and have always loved sharing my joy of music with others, as well as performing for those who may not have access to live music. Music Mentors is the perfect community for 5C students to teach music to young children and inspire them to discover their own passion for it. In addition to music, I enjoy playing and watching sports and hanging out with friends!

Hello! My name is Denise (she/her), and I am from Ontario California. I am a senior at Claremont McKenna College, majoring in psychology. I have been involved with Draper since high school through the PAYS program. I have also worked at Draper since my freshman year, and this will be my third year as one of the coordinators for the LEAF program. As a first-gen, low-income Latina I understand the importance of having a supportive community and hope to aid in fostering a community with anyone involved in LEAF. While studying abroad for a semester last year I was able to travel a lot which I love to do! I also like going to concerts, getting coffee/matcha, and collecting trinkets. I also enjoy doing crafts and binge-watching shows.

Hi! I'm Shixiao (he/him), a Pomona junior majoring in Math and English (the most basic of basic subjects!). I love reading, drawing, and playing mahjong! My favorite thing to draw is Pikachu, as Pikachu is irresistible, but my favorite Pokémon is Eevee. I'm always down to hear about good book recommendations, or just to chat! You'll probably find me in Estella Laboratory's math department, which is my second home. I coordinate for PAYS!

My name is Chloe Mei Espinosa (two-word first name) and I’m a sophomore at Pomona College. I am from Newport Beach, California, so I love going to the beach and swimming in the ocean. I am a varsity athlete on the women’s water polo team; we recently won the NCAA D3 National Championship! I love to read, scuba dive, and play the guitar and piano – making music is one of my greatest passions, and I’m currently in a band on campus. Another passion is protecting our environment and oceans, which is why I founded Skip the Plastic Straw (skiptheplasticstraw.com), with the goal to reduce the use of single-use plastic straws. Lastly, I love helping others: the Pomona Partners Program has allowed me to be a support system for students in middle schools in Claremont. I’m extremely excited and grateful to be a student coordinator for the program and hopeful it will continue to grow!

Hello everyone! My name is Emmanuel Santiago (he/him) and I'll be coordinating ESL+ and PCCEC this year. I am a first-generation, low-income student, and my family and I are Mexican. I am actually really local to Claremont and live in San Bernardino, my hometown. A little bit about myself: I love to play soccer, dance, play the violin, and run cross country and track & field. I am a physics and applied math major, hoping to go back to my community and work toward helping my home reach its fullest potential. I have a lot of pride in both my Mexican heritage and where I call home. I consider myself more of an extrovert and always love meeting new people so I look forward to helping out the community and making new friends!

When asked who his favorite superhero is, Leon (he/him) will immediately jump up with joy and yell out "Spider-Man!" with a comic book of him in his hands. You will also catch Leon in his free time kicking his feet up in the air and reading manga from the new series he is getting into. If he isn't reading, he is most likely strumming his guitar, playing the cello, breakdancing, or having the time of his life playing soccer with his friends. Whenever Leon needs a break, he loves to look up at the stars, since he is passionate about astrophysics. You'll also find Leon co-coordinator for PAYS during this year!

Hey y'all! My name is Vincent Sylvester (he/him). I'm a sophomore majoring in Africana Studies and Computer Science, with the goal of pursuing Tech Policy to address the impact of algorithmic bias on the Black community. I'm coming from Brooklyn, NY and this will be my first year coordinating for Young Men's Collective (affectionately known as YMC). Supporting Black and brown youth is my way to empower my community as I understand the various barriers and stereotypes that have barred men of color from various institutions, specifically higher education. I look forward to connecting high schoolers in the neighboring areas, more men of color throughout the 5Cs, and alumni who helped establish YMC's legacy. When I get bored I practice Deejaying and watch anime. I can't wait for an awesome year with the Draper Center!
