My name is Eileen Ahn and I am a third year studying neuroscience with (hopefully) a minor in studio arts. I hail from Seoul, South Korea, but now call Yorba Linda, California my home. This will be my second year working as a Draper Center Coordinator for the PAYS program, and I am a PAYS alumna myself. I am also involved as an EcoRep for the Sustainability Office and as a neuroscience liaison on campus. I am a big socks enthusiast, always enjoy a nice cup of earl gray, and will be returning in the spring semester from my fall study abroad in Copenhagen!
My name is Malak Afaneh and I am a junior at Pomona College double majoring in Politics & Middle Eastern Studies. I am from Chicago, the best city in the world. This is my first year as the Chicago Alternabreak Coordinator. As a proud Palestinian, Muslim woman, I created my own shirt company, Rosie The Hijabi LLC, as a means of designing and screen printing shirts that foster positive representation of Muslim women. Inspired by the amazing WOC mentors in my life, my art and activism are intersectional means of giving back to the community that has always supported my success.
My name is Joe Antonellis, and I am a junior at Pomona College. I am from Boston, Massachusetts, but now live in the mountains of New Hampshire. I am majoring in Gender and Women's Studies with a focus on Mindfulness-Based Education. This is my first year coordinating for the Draper Center, as the coordinator for Pomona Mountain Project, and ESL+. I love to hike in the San Gabriel mountains with my dog iiwii, and produce R&B music with my partner.
My name is Emilio Araujo and I’m from Chicago. I’m a history major focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean and a Spanish minor. I’ve been working with IndigeNations at the Draper center for 3 years now. I also run the Campus Center Audio Events Services programming when I’m not working at Draper and love to basketball when I have a free minute. Also, I do card magic.
My name is Nicole Arce. I am from Miami, Florida and I'm a junior at Pomona College. I am majoring in Sociology with a minor in Politics. This is my first year as a Draper Center Coordinator for the new program called the Pomona Mountain Project. I will also be leading an Alternabreak trip in the Spring Semester! On campus, I run an eating disorder recovery support group and I also work as a student researcher in the Sociology department studying the Sociology of the Body. I love to hike, write, and pet every dog I meet on the street.
My name is Fernando and I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. I am currently a fourth-year student majoring in mathematics, on the statistics track. On top of stats, I also study astronomy and Japanese; in fact, I was abroad in Japan for the Spring 2019 semester! This is my third year working at the Draper Center and I am super grateful to continue working alongside Journey Simmons and Ryan Collins for the LEGS program. I can’t wait to continue working at the Draper this last year!

I intend on self-designing a major in Public Health with a concentration on Indigenous Studies. This is my first year as a coordinator for the Tongva Living History Garden. Currently, I am involved with the Center for Asian Pacific American Students (CAPAS) and the Indigenous Peer Mentorship Program (IPMP)! My name is Jose F. Carranza Celis and I am from South Central LA, California. I am a Second Year at Pomona College majoring in Molecular Biology. This will be my second year being involved with the Draper Center. I will helping coordinate the PAYS program and ESL+. I will also be mentoring for the IDEAS program on campus and playing intramural soccer. I love playing video games and sports during my free time.
My name is Evan Coburn and I’m a senior from Memphis, Tennessee majoring in English and potentially minoring Theater. This is my third (and final, sad face) year as a Draper Coordinator and my second year working as a coordinator for PAYS! Outside of Draper, I serve on the FLI E-board as the community building committee leader and work at the Jumpstart office at Pitzer. I am taking 5 classes for no reason and am financially insecure because I spend all of my money on video games that I never have time to play. Say hi if you see me on campus (please I'm struggling).
My name is Ryan Collins. I am from Chicago, Illinois. I'm a sophomore intending to double major in politics and africana studies. This is my second year working with the Draper Center as one of the coordinators for LEGS (Leadership and Engagement in Gender and Sexuality). I am also very involved in the Black Student Union on campus, and I am on the leadership board of the organization. I love fashion and the performing arts.
Hello! My name is Jordan Grimaldi and I am from Arlington, Virginia. I am an Environmental Analysis major with a concentration in Sustainability and the Built Environment and I am very excited for my senior year here at Pomona. This is my fourth year at Draper as a volunteer and my third year as a student coordinator. This year, I will be co-coordinating the Tongva Living History Garden program and the Community Based Research and Learning/Community Partnership program and volunteering with the Rooftop Garden Project. To relax and recharge I enjoy staying active and visiting friends and family in LA. Fun fact: I’ve had the same water bottle for 6 years!
I’m Perla a Senior, Public Policy Analysis-Biology major. I am from Austin, Texas. I have been working with Learning in Collaboration (LINC) and Health Bridges for 4 years, and this is my second year coordinating both programs. I am passionate about education and health disparities, vegan cooking, hiking and anything that involves a competition. As an (internally) 85-year old, I also love doing puzzles, playing board games, visiting bookstores and museums.

My name is Maria José Urbina Gonzalez and a sophomore at Pomona intending to major in Economics and Politics. I was originally born in Lima, Peru but was raised in Colorado. I volunteered with Pomona Partners all throughout my freshman year and now this is my first year as a coordinator! I am also a CLSA sponsor and work at the Health Education Outreach on Campus. I am passionate about education accessibility, immigrant rights, and working with youth. Outside of my involvement on campus, I spend my time making Spotify playlists, learning guitar, and hanging out with friends.
My name is Lydia Haile and I am a sophomore from Denver, Colorado who will most likely be majoring in Neuroscience. This is my first year with Draper and I am really excited to be working as a PAYS coordinator after my experience this summer with all the scholars. On campus, I am also involved as a mentor for the Office of Black Student Affairs in addition to working as a Resident Advisor, and a Speaking Partner through the Writing Center. A fun fact about me is that I hope to one day become fluent in at least three languages.

This is my first year with the Draper Center as a coordinator for the ‘Sista2Sista’ Black women’s outreach program. I am also a member of Pomona’s Black Student Union’s executive board and an OBSA mentor! In my free time I really love creative design and being able to express myself through my style!
My Indian name is Henaayee, but I go by Liv. I’m from Nenana, Alaska, a small village in the homelands of my Athabascan ancestors. This will be my fourth year at Pomona and my second year working with Native Initiatives at the Draper Center. My academic endeavors focus on Indigenous Studies with a concentration in Public Health. In addition to the Draper Center, I participate in the 5C Indigenous Peer Mentor Program as a head mentor, and run the Indigenize Academia Now! group on campus that works towards a collective goal of creating an Intercollegiate Native American and Indigenous Studies Department at The Claremont Colleges. My name is Katheryn (Kat) Kornegay, a senior from Atlanta, Georgia majoring in physics. This is my third year as a Draper Center coordinator. On campus I’m also involved with the Claremont Journal of Medicine and Social Justice where I serve as the Local Editor-in-Chief. My name is Amanda and I am a Kenyan-American from Silver Spring, Maryland/D.C. I am currently a senior at Pomona College double majoring in History and Media Studies. I am super excited to coordinate the Rooftop Garden and am enthusiastic about working with high school and middle school students. My name is Tramy Nguyen. I’m from Burien, Washington, a little city just south of Seattle, and I’m a Sophomore at Pomona College. My major has yet to be declared, but I’m looking into Environmental Analysis while exploring other possibilities, mainly in the humanities. As a first-time Draper Center Coordinator, I’m one of the three heads leading the Houselessness and Hunger Initiatives (HHI) program, and specifically, I lead the Houselessness Action Team (HAT). Outside of Draper, I’m an AAMP mentor among other exciting endeavors, and I really enjoy making art, sharing stories, and exploring new and familiar places.
My name is Isaac Prestwich. I’m a fourth-year from Los Angeles currently studying Gender and Women’s Studies at Pomona. Despite the fact that I have been volunteering with the Draper Center since my first semester of college, this is my second year as a program coordinator. I am a co-coordinator for Pomona Partners, a non-academic mentorship program for middle school students at Fremont Academy. Last year, I also coordinated the Gulf Coast Alternabreak trip. Ultimately, my passions lie in education and working with youth. In fact, after I graduate in the Spring of 2020, I hope to become an elementary school teacher! When I’m not reading or doing work at the Draper Center, I am usually baking sourdough or listening to music with friends.
My name is Hermo Quispe. I grew up in Santa Cruz Bolivia but moved to Michigan for high school. I am a junior at Pomona studying economics. This is my third year at the Draper Center, and I’ve been Coordinating Next Level since my sophomore year. On campus, I am also involved as a Head Mentor for the First Generation/ Low Income (FLI) mentor program helping FLI first years transition to college. This is my first year as a Draper Center Coordinator for Health Bridges and Learning in Collaboration (LINC). Outside of classes, I volunteer at Pomona Valley hospital, mentor for Intro Neuro, and I'm a part of the FLI and PSS scholars on campus. My name is Gerardo Rodriguez. I am from sunny and very very humid Miami, Florida. I am a sophomore at Pomona College. I am double majoring in Politics and Latin American Studies. Being a first-generation and low income student, I am involved with the FLI organization, as well as Student Government on campus (ASPC). I also really enjoy and love writing and reading poetry.
