Pomona College takes great care to associate with programs of outstanding reputation and quality. Approved Programs are study abroad options approved by the Study Abroad Committee (SAC). These programs are screened and monitored to ensure continued quality. On most Approved Programs, an on-site director serves as the liaison between students and the host institution. The director coordinates orientation and extracurricular activities and can help with academic arrangements and adjustments to foreign living and study.

Please note that exact program dates are often not available until after the application process. The dates provided for each program are approximations; it is the student's responsibility to confirm exact program dates when making plans to study abroad.

Duke’s ICCS Program provides students with an opportunity to study Classics in Rome. A core cultural and academic component of the program is The Ancient City course, which covers Roman archaeology and topography, aspects of social and urban history, and Roman civilization.
