Tickets are not required to attend any Commencement Weekend activities, however security protocols will be in place for the Commencement Ceremony on Sunday morning. Guests should plan accordingly.

Arriving to Campus
Street Closures
To support our weekend programming, street closures will be in place on both Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17. Please plan your routes accordingly.

Free parking is available at the South Campus Parking Structure. Accessible parking lots are available on campus and require valid accessible hang tags or license plates. Please refer to our printable parking map for more details.

Weather
The current forecast for the weekend includes warm temperatures, clear and sunny skies and dry conditions. Most weekend programming will take place outdoors, rain or shine, on Marston Quad. Limited shade will be available during the Commencement Ceremony.
- We recommend sunscreen, hats and protective sunwear to stay comfortable.
- Water hydration stations will be available.
In the unlikely event of rain, guests may use small personal umbrellas. Rain ponchos will be available at the Information and Guest Services booth during the Commencement ceremony on Sunday.
Guest Services
Accessible (ADA) Parking and ADA/Companion Seating
Limited first-come, first–served ADA-compliant seating will be available at the Class Day Reception on Saturday, May 16. Designated ADA-compliant seating areas during the Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 17, will be first-come, first-served and each ADA-compliant seat includes one companion seat.

Hearing Assistance and Interpretation Devices
Hearing assistance and Spanish and Mandarin language interpretation will be available at the Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 17. These services will not be available at any other weekend programming.
Guests who requested assistive listening or interpretation (Spanish/Mandarin) devices will need to leave identification at the Information/Guest Services booth to check out requested equipment. Availability of this service is limited and devices will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Commencement Ceremony
Arrival and Seating
Commencement Ceremony seating will open to guests at 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 17.
Out of mindfulness for all families and guests, please coordinate your entire party’s arrival to avoid saving large numbers of seats. Generally speaking, please save no more than one additional seat per member of your party that is present.
Bag Check and Security Protocols
Entry into the Commencement Ceremony on Sunday will require a bag check, so please plan to arrive no later than 9:30 a.m. Security staff will conduct a cursory inspection of bag contents. Please consider leaving unnecessary bags in your vehicle to expedite this process.
Strollers and diaper bags are allowed, but will be inspected during the bag search entering Marston Quad.
Prior to entering the Commencement Ceremony on Marston Quad, guests wearing masks or face coverings will be asked to temporarily remove them for identification purposes during the bag check.
Prohibited Items
For the safety and security of our guests, the following items are prohibited. All prohibited items must be returned to the owner's vehicle or discarded prior to entry. The College is not responsible for items left behind, lost, stolen or damaged.
- Alcohol and smoking of any kind are prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vape pens and smokeless tobacco.
- Animals (only service animals allowed)
- Artificial noisemakers (including air horns, thunderstix, musical instruments, cans filled with contents, whistles, cow bells or any other items used to make artificial noise)
- Balloons
- Banners, dry erase boards, signs
- Bicycles, hoverboards, longboards, scooters, skateboards
- Cameras larger than pocket-sized, or with detachable lenses
- Coolers and ice chests
- Drones, fireworks, laser pointers
- Glass and metal containers
- Poles, sticks, similar objects that can be used as a weapon
- Monopods, selfie sticks, tripods
- Umbrellas (small, personal umbrellas will be allowed in the event of rain)

Ceremony Live Stream
For guests who prefer to be indoors, the ceremony will be live streamed in Bridges Hall of Music, adjacent to Marston Quad. The ceremony live stream will be available on the Commencement website for guests who are unable to join us on campus.
Graduate Photography
Pomona College is pleased to offer complimentary professional photographs of graduates receiving their diploma as they cross the Commencement stage. Instructions for downloading print quality photos from the photographer's digital gallery will be emailed to graduates and families following Commencement Weekend.
