New Stage in COVID Response (5/25/23)

Dear Pomona College Community,

We are writing with updates on our COVID-19 response now that the federal public health emergency is formally over.

We are grateful for the partnership of our entire community in promoting safety and for the contributions of so many over the last three years. The COVID-19 Planning and Response Group, comprised of faculty, students and staff, is now concluding its service and we thank everyone who participated.

We have streamlined our COVID-19 website to make it easier to find key information on symptoms, testing and vaccination. We want to stress the need for some safety steps with the continued presence of COVID-19 in our region and world, and we remain prepared for the possibility of new surges in cases in the future.

We urge members of our community to stay up to date on their COVID-19 vaccinations, with appointments available through the state website.

For staff and faculty seeking testing, the on-campus Hamilton Health Box clinic at 118 8th Street will continue to be available, as will the health check form, even as the daily reminder emails end this week.

Testing for students at this time remains available at vending machines across The Claremont Colleges consortium (over the summer it may shift to the Student Health Services clinic.) Students with COVID-related medical questions or concerns should contact Student Health Services.

We are thankful to be at this new stage in our COVID-19 response – and thankful for the help of everyone in our community.

Sincerely,
