This year's theme is "Light It Up," and each piece tells a story that taps into our shared humanity and reminds us of the potential of our community. Each year, all members of The Claremont Colleges Community are invited to submit new plays inspired by a common theme. Winners are selected in December and the department produces the plays with student directors and performers.

Every politics major in the senior year undergoes an oral examination based on a list of 12 books or articles that the student selects. This year, the politics seniors will each be giving five-minute presentations – in public, during Family Weekend – explaining why they selected the books they did and what themes and issues they intend to address during their senior oral examination. Come see a few, or many, or all 22!

This is Your Brain on Stress
Winner of multiple Wig Distinguished Professor Awards for Excellence in Teaching, Professor of Neuroscience Nicole Weekes is an expert on the body's psychological and biological stress response. Her work examines how changes in stress levels affect both physical health (such as impairments to the immune system) and psychological health (cognitive deficits and psychopathologies). She has also recently begun to consider the field of stress management, with a focus on mindfulness. Learn more about how stress affects us all and what we can do about it.

In Ideas@Pomona: Family Edition, a line-up of four Pomona College parents will present a series of mini-talks on topics that challenge and inspire them.
