Chance Encounter brings together artists who did not choose each other. Rather, it asks the question of togetherness as a process of random luck. 10 artists—in the same school, same place, same time. Coincidence plays the role of curatorial spirit and asks these individuals to lean into the random. What emerges is a dialogue between drastically different artists who would not have converged otherwise.
As featured works range in medium and subject matter, this formation creates a larger image of what the chance encounter can become. Chance Encounter connects the accidental to moments of camaraderie, discourse, and exploration.
Artists featured in this exhibition are Thomas Aguilar, Josh Allard, Yadira Barrales-Lopez, Becca Choe, Charlie Coleman, Daisy Dong, Léon Moreno, Téa Samia, Mariela Tamez-Elizondo, and Nora Wu.
