Virtual Perspectives on Pomona (POP)

The Pomona College Access Team works towards fulfilling the mission of recruiting and admitting diverse groups of students to the College. Through the Fall Perspectives on Pomona (POP) program, we offer prospective students insights into life at Pomona College, opportunities to learn and connect directly with our inspiring professors, and invitations to open discussions with our current students about what it is genuinely like to be at Pomona. Fall POP allows for exploration of all the layers of our community and its resources.

While the Fall POP program is open to all eligible high school seniors (U.S. citizens, undocumented/DACA students, and Permanent Residents), the programming is focused on furthering the academic journey of students who come from underrepresented groups, students who are first-generation or low-income, and students whose identities are in other marginalized communities.

Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 restrictions as well as the success of our 2020 virtual program, Fall POP 2021 will be held virtually and will take place over two half-day programs on Saturday, September 25, and Saturday, October 2, 2021.

Fall POP participants who apply and are admitted to Pomona College will be invited to Spring Perspectives on Pomona (POP), part of our admitted students programming in April 2022. Assuming the resumption of on-campus visits at that time, Spring POP 2022 participants will be provided with on-campus housing, meals and shuttle transportation between local airports and Pomona College for an on-campus visit program. Travel grants will be available to cover airfare expenses.

The application deadline for Fall POP has been extended to Monday, August 16, 2021.
