What should you expect for your child in his or her first year at Pomona? What needs to be done before reaching campus for Move-In Day and Orientation? Find answers to these and other questions on the New Students website.
Here are few notes to help guide you before you and your child arrive on campus, during Move-In Day and beyond.
Move-In Day and Orientation
Before you arrive on campus, get prepped and ready by reviewing this list of tasks students need to complete prior to Move-In Day. A suggested packing list is also available for students and families to review.
Pomona plans many activities throughout the day for students and their families. Check out the Family Orientation Schedule for a Cecil’s eye view of the helpful and informative programs and activities you’ll experience on Move-In Day. Review the complete Orientation schedule for a broader look at Orientation for new students. Please note that information for international students and families can be found on the Family Orientation webpage.
Students who are participating in fall sports will receive information from the Athletics Department and coaches during the summer about team move-in dates, which will be in mid-August.
Staying Connected During the First Year at Pomona
Parents often wonder the best way to stay connected. Many students text or call their parents on a daily basis or multiple times a day. And, of course, some do not feel the need for consistent communication (but they still miss you). If you do not hear from your son/daughter and are concerned (or have other concerns), please feel free to call the Dean of Students Office at (909) 621-8017 and we will communicate your concerns.
