Dear colleagues,
It is with pleasure that I write to let you know that Prof. Pierangelo De Pace has accepted my offer of a two-year extension to his term as our Associate Dean for Curriculum. Prof. De Pace has served in this role for the past three years with diligence and thoughtfulness, care and commitment. Along with his colleague associate deans, he has been extremely helpful to me this year in my orientation to Pomona College operations and practices. As my interim appointment continues, I think Prof. De Pace’s institutional knowledge and continuity in this role will be important to our success in Academic Affairs. This, of course, is not to mention the experience and wisdom he brings to all he does!
Some of you might wonder why we’ve removed “and international initiatives” from Prof. De Pace’s associate dean title. While Prof. De Pace will continue to work closely with colleagues on international topics, the shorter title best describes the position’s portfolio and avoids confusion with the work of other leadership on campus.
I look forward to working with Prof. De Pace again next year, and I know he is excited to continue his work with all of you through the 2027-28 academic year.
