Mentor PAYS Scholars This Summer
The Pomona College Academy for Youth Success (PAYS) is a college access program for high school students with a 4-week academically intensive, residential component during the summer. Students come from our surrounding communities and from populations traditionally underrepresented in college – first generation college-going, low income, and/or African-American, Latinx, Native American, Pacific Islander, Southeast Asian or other groups. Due to COVID, we had been conducting our program virtually for two summers (2020 & 2021) with a 5-week academically intensive component. Our hope and plan is to return to an in-person residential experience for the upcoming summer (2022).
