Three Things - 7.19.23

Dear Sagehens,

Good afternoon! It is just about a month until we welcome the entire class of 2027 and our fantastic  transfers to campus. We’re also excited to welcome our fall athletes and international students even sooner.

In the meantime, here are this week’s Three Things:

  • Pomona College’s class dean system is a wonderful bridge between student and academic affairs. You’ll meet your dean, Joelle Balthazar, at Orientation but please read her letter welcoming the Class of 2027! And transfers, Maura McDinger, junior class dean is your contact as you transition to Pomona and you can read more from her here

  • Online orientation will be held Tuesday, August 1 and Wednesday, August 2, from 9:00 a.m. - Noon, Pacific Daylight Time. These sessions are required. We recommend attending in order to make sure you can have your questions answered. If you cannot attend, you will be be required to watch the recorded sessions.

  • Looking for a way to travel around the 5Cs? Check out our Green Bikes program. Green Bikes is an on-campus, student-run bike shop that offers yearly bike rentals through a lottery system. A sign-up form will be posted on the Green Bikes website during the first two weeks of the semester. For more information, email greenbikes@pomona.edu or follow them on Instagram: @pomonagreenbikes.

If you are worried you’ve missed something, and you probably have not because you are amazing, please check out the Three Things archive.

And remind your families to register for Family Orientation on August 19. It’s free and includes lunch in the dining hall!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Respectfully,

Josh Eisenberg, dean of campus life

Pierangelo De Pace, associate dean of the college
