Pomona College has been named one of the top producers of U.S. Fulbright students for 2021-2022 among baccalaureate institutions.

Pomona's Asian American Resource Center has been awarded a $293,781 grant from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to help low-income Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander residents navigate and access safety net programs.

Two Pomona College alumni will address the class of 2022 as Commencement speakers: Nobel Laureate Jennifer Doudna ’85 and long-time supporter of the College Stewart Smith ’68. 

The project LA River X aims to highlight the cultural and historical significance of those miles through the collection, dissemination and preservation of the stories of the people who live along the LA River.

Pomona College students voting rate was 77.7% in 2020, a +19.3 change from 2016. That is well above the national rate for college students, which was 66% in 2020 (compared with 52% in 2016.)

Theatre major David Callander '88 headed for Broadway after graduating, then decided to go to medical school and became a psychiatrist. The pandemic stirred something in him, and Callander is producing and directing an upcoming play in L.A.

Bobby Lee ’02 and Sophia Whang have established a scholarship fund for students facing financial hardships, come from immigrant families, are first-generation college students and/or are pursuing careers in science or medicine.
