Hello from Pomona’s Annual Giving Associates!

Our Annual Giving Associates are all Pomona students who love talking with alumni and families through the Office of Annual Giving's Star47 student outreach program to provide the latest news about what's happening on campus, learn about Pomona alumni experiences, history and traditions, and share ways to support current students.

Annual Giving Associates also serve as student philanthropy ambassadors on campus, sharing resources that enrich the student experience with their peers. Here's a chance to get to know them a little better!

Meet Our Associates

Wendy ’26 is a Cognitive Science major here at Pomona. On campus, she is also the photo editor of The Student Life newspaper of the 5Cs. She enjoys helping other students as the Language Partner at Oldenborg, where she often enjoys lunch at the language tables. In her free time, Wendy loves playing the violin, watching musicals, and learning languages. Her favorite part of being an Annual Giving Associate is hearing from different alumni about their experiences at Pomona and thanking the donors that shape her student experience.

Seth ’27 is a sophomore student from Washington, majoring in Cognitive Science. Seth is part of the 5C club basketball team and likes to read and explore different types of media and fashion in his free time. Seth’s favorite part of being an Annual Giving Associate is speaking with alumni and learning how Pomona has changed over the years!”

Corinne ’28 studies Romance Languages and hails from New York City. She’s part of BLAAC (Black Caribbean/Latino space). Corinne loves how Pomona allows her to create her perfect blend of the 5Cs and all their opportunities. She’s proud of maintaining a Duolingo streak of more than four years.

Jonathan ’28 is double majoring in Media Studies and Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies. Originally from Verona, Wisconsin, he’s involved with Claremont Lacrosse, LXA, PSU, and 5C Pickleball. Jonathan’s favorite thing about Pomona is the wide array of experiences found in the classroom. A fun fact about him: he plays five racquet sports recreationally.

Melanie ’28 is studying Public Policy Analysis Anthropology (PPA-ANTH) and comes from Havana, Cuba and Miami, Florida. She’s a mentor in the FLI program and says her favorite thing about Pomona is the professors. Melanie enjoys reading, photography, art, and crochet.

Phu ’28 is double majoring in Computer Science and Economics. From Nha Trang, Vietnam, he’s involved in People of Color Outside and the Claremont Marketing Group. Phu loves that on clear nights you can see almost every constellation from Marston Quad. He also enjoys video editing and is always up for helping create new content.

Chun ’29 is from Chicago and Hong Kong and is currently undeclared, with an interest in Public Policy Analysis (Economics track). Chun is active in the Pomona Economist Cohort, Groove Nation Dance Crew, the Class of 2029 Committee, the Asian American Mentorship Program, and Pomona College FLI Scholars. He values the community Pomona has built and how it has helped him grow as a person. His favorite study spot is Estella.

Dashawn ’29 is a Psychology major from Hinesville, Georgia. He’s active in Pomona-Pitzer Track and Field, the Pilgrim Exchange Club, Pens and Poetry, and the Black Student Union. Dashawn loves Pomona’s beautiful campus and the connections he’s made across the 5Cs. He’s also a big Disney fan.

Fola ’29 is from Dallas, Texas, and is considering majoring in Neuroscience. She’s involved with the Pilgrim Exchange, which visits local nursing homes to connect with residents. Fola appreciates the diversity of the Pomona student body and the new perspectives it brings. Her ideal evening includes watching football, playing Minecraft, and listening to 2010s music.

Meet Archie and Moe—The Official Star47 Pet Ambassadors

Archie is a playful kitten whose favorite activities include cuddling with his stuffed Cecil toy, exploring campus with our Star47 Associates and indulging in a good treat. He can be found on campus playing in Seaver House or taking a nap on a student’s lap.

Moe is an energetic Cockapoo with a passion for philanthropy. When he's not chasing frisbees in Marston Quad or eating chicken tenders at the Coop, you can catch him joining study sessions at the library, making new friends during campus walks and finding ways to give back to Pomona's students. He's so excited to work with Star47!
