August

  • August 15: Spring reappointment, tenure, and/or promotion dossiers due. Additional review material due from chairs.
  • August 20: NFO Check-In, Breakfast, 8:30-9:45 a.m., SCC 201

September

  • Before September 1: Notification is due to the Faculty Position Advisory Committee (FPAC) of intent to submit a proposal for a faculty position. Program coordinators must inform FPAC if they intend to propose converting a program to a department.
  • September 7: Labor Day observed (staff and instructional holiday).
  • September 7: Applications due for remaining Study Abroad Approved Programs and all Programs by Petition.
  • September 8: Deadline for coursework for approved Spring 2026 incompletes. Deadline for Fall 2026 independent study proposals.
  • September 8: Chairs’ Meeting, 12 – 1 p.m.
  • September 10: Faculty Meeting, 12 – 1 p.m.
  • September 14: Deadline for students to add a course.
  • September 15: Department recommendation letters for Fall reappointment, tenure, and/or promotion reviews due. Spring candidates’ evidence of professional achievement for external review due to review chairs.
  • September 22: Confidential individual letters for Fall reappointment, tenure, and/or promotion reviews are due.
  • September 24: Faculty Forum, 12 – 1 p.m.
  • September 25: Blue Room Talk, 12 – 1 p.m.
  • September 28: Large Research Grant Deadline, 11:59 p.m.
  • September 28: Sontag Research Fellowship Deadline, 11:59 p.m.

  • October 1: Completed proposals for faculty positions and program-to-department conversions are due to FPAC.

  • October 6: Deadline for sabbatical leaves, subventions, and leaves-without-pay applications for the 2026-27 academic year.

  • October 7: Suggested date by which to submit low-grade notifications for Fall 2026 semester
  • October 19: Faculty Exchange Program with Downing College Deadline, 11:59 p.m.
  • October 19-20: Fall break.

  • June 30: Deadline to submit department annual report to Dean of the College. Fiscal year ends.
