Alumni Weekend Frequently Asked Questions

Registration

Find answers to your questions about registering for Alumni Weekend. 

Is there a general registration fee?

Yes, all registrants (alumni and non-alumni) pay for a general programming AW Event Pass. The Event Pass fee is in included in the All-Inclusive and the À La Carte registration packages. There is no fee charged for registrants younger than 16.

Can I make changes to my registration after it has been confirmed?

To change your registration, contact the Office of Alumni & Parent Engagement at alumni@pomona.edu or call 1-888-SAGEHEN (724-3436).

Will I receive a confirmation of my registration?

Every registration will be confirmed by email. For questions, please contact the Office of Alumni & Parent Engagement by email or by calling 1-888-724-3436 (1-888-SAGEHEN).

I need to cancel my registration; can I get a refund?

For Alumni Weekend 2024: Please contact the Office of Alumni & Parent Engagement by calling 1-888-724-3436 (1-888-SAGEHEN) or by email.

Where do I check in and pick up my registration packet when I arrive on campus?

The lobby of Bridges Auditorium (Big Bridges) is the Registration Check-In location for Alumni Weekend 2024. Please see the schedule for specific dates and times for registration packet pick-up during Alumni Weekend 2024.

If you are arriving on campus by ride-service app travel, please use 405 N. College Way, Claremont, CA 91711 as your destination address.

If I don't pre-register online, can I still attend events?

We strongly encourage online pre-registration. Limited walk-up registration is available; individual event registrations may be sold out and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Will my maiden name automatically be included on the name tag?

Names of attendees will reflect the registrant information provided on the online registration site. There will be an opportunity to update nametags at the Registration Check-In location during Alumni Weekend.

Traveling, Hotels and Directions

Will there be shuttles from the recommended hotels?

Hotel shuttle information will be posted in the program guide and online schedule for Alumni Weekend 2024. Currently, the Claremont Doubletree will be offering shuttle service.

If all of the recommended hotels are sold out, where can I stay?

Where can I find a campus map or directions?

There will be signs and banners posted around campus to direct alumni to event locations. View the online map of the campus here.

Where should alumni go when they arrive on campus?

The lobby of Big Bridges is the Registration Check-In site for Alumni Weekend 2024. 

Will the Coop Store be open?

Yes, the Coop Store will be open:

  • Thursday from 9 a.m.–Midnight
  • Friday from 9 a.m.–Midnight
  • Saturday from 9 a.m.–Midnight
  • Sunday from Noon–9 p.m.

The Coop Store is located in the Smith Campus Center on the Main Level, west side.

What if it rains?

Alumni Weekend is a rain or shine event. Event location changes will be announced thorough the Alumni Weekend app and app schedule page.

Will we be able to visit the dorms?

Alumni will not have access to residence halls during Alumni Weekend. Please respect our campus community and refrain from attempting to access residence halls which are closed spaces.

What if I need help getting around campus?

A limited number of carts will be operating on a shuttle “loop” for those needing rides on campus. Shuttle pick-up and drop-off stops will be marked.

Are children welcome at the reunion dinners?

While children are not prohibited from attending Reunion Class Dinners, we do consider them to be primarily adult-oriented events. Note that there will not be special meals or seating available. Please be sure to count children in your party when registering for meals during Alumni Weekend.

How will I know which of my classmates are attending?

Is there a dress code for the reunion dinners?

There is no dress code for the reunion dinners. Comfortable is the order for the day!

Where can I learn more about Pomona’s COVID-19 guidelines?

Safety measures are in place, and campus community members and guests are additionally advised to take personal precautions, including making travel arrangements that are cancellable and/or refundable. Masking is optional.

Will childcare be provided during the weekend?

Unfortunately, we will unable to offer childcare services during Alumni Weekend.

How can I contribute to my class gift?

Is there an alcohol policy? Are we allowed to bring alcohol to campus?

Alumni and guests are asked not to bring alcohol to campus during Alumni Weekend. Alcohol will be available at selective events throughout the weekend. Pomona’s policy prohibits open containers of alcohol or cups containing alcohol in public spaces. In addition, common containers of alcohol (kegs, party bowls, etc.) are also not allowed in public spaces. For the safety and enjoyment of all members of our community, please adhere to campus policies during your visit.
