Three Things - 6.7.23

Dear Sagehens,

We hope you are enjoying your week in your corner of the world. We share an update on Orientation Adventure (OA). What is OA? Good question. All new students choose an OA trip to help them build camaraderie with classmates, while they explore Los Angeles and Southern California. Be on the lookout for the OA sign up form later this month. In the meantime, check out highlights from last year’s OA trips.

This week’s Three Things:

· Drumroll please – This year’s Orientation book is: Our Missing Hearts by Celeste Ng. The book is available digitally through Google Play. Follow these instructions to download your copy.

· All Pomona College students are required to have U.S. health insurance before coming to campus. Students are automatically enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP) a partnership with Aetna. Students who have different insurance coverage can visit the SHIP Waiver portal to receive a waiver. The waiver deadline is September 13.

· Finally, learn more about Claremont, your home for the next few years. A city 35 miles east of Los Angeles, Claremont offers many options for entertainment, dining and events. Learn more about Claremont.

Enjoy the rest of your week, and you’ll hear from us next Wednesday. If you have missed any of the previous emails, you can catch up with the Three Things archive.

Respectfully,

Josh Eisenberg, dean of campus life

Anne Dwyer, associate dean of the college
