Three Things - 7.09.25

Hello Sagehens!

We are less than a month away from our first members of the Class of 2029 and fall transfers arriving on campus. We are excitedly finalizing the orientation schedule and getting ready to have you join us on campus.

But we still have a few things to do ... which is why this special edition has four things (I know, I know, but we believe in you):

· Let’s work together to build a culture of respect, equity and empowerment on campus. As an agreement of our shared values, the Title IX & Campus Advocacy, Resources, Education, and Support (CARES) Office wants to ensure all students complete the U GOT THIS! online training by August 6 Today, July 9, you will receive an invitation email to your Pomona email with instructions and a direct link to the module. For more information and available resources, visit the “Online Modules” page or contact cares@pomona.edu.

· Placement exams are live! If you’d like to enroll in Latin, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, French, music theory, Chemistry 51, or economics this fall, navigate to Canvas using your Pomona credentials. The exam sites will be on your Canvas dashboard. The deadline for most exams is July 21, so we recommend completing them ASAP! For all other Language placement exams and deadlines, check out the Foreign Language Resource Center site.

· Coming to college represents an opportunity to explore relationships, behaviors and new experiences - including the one you have with alcohol and other drugs. As you get ready to embark on your Pomona journey, the wellness team in the Dean of Students Office wants to ensure all students complete the BINGE THINKING! online training by August 6. Today, July 9, you will receive an invitation email to your Pomona email with instructions and a direct link to the module. For more information and available resources, visit the “Online Modules” page or contact studentaffairs@pomona.edu.

And, fourth but not least:

· The deadline for OA Preferences is Friday, July 11. Please make sure to fill it out if you have not already.

Respectfully,

Josh Eisenberg, dean of campus life

Pierangelo De Pace, associate dean of the college

P.S. The deadline to apply for the summer dialogue series is Monday. Join us on July 28 and 30 for small online group discussions with your peers and other members of the Pomona community.
