Emerging Scholars Symposium

On Saturday, June 7, 2025, the Claremont Colleges hosted a one-day symposium for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows mainly from institutions in Southern California.

Dozens of up-and-coming academics in diverse fields of study attended the Emerging Scholars Symposium at Pomona College. Organized by associate deans who serve the Claremont Colleges in faculty development, professional flourishing, mentoring, and inclusive excellence, the Symposium featured panels, workshops, and other facilitated discussions about the transition from graduate school to the professoriate, the job search process, as well as teaching, researching, and thriving at small liberal arts colleges.

The day’s agenda can be found below, where you can also find a selection of photos. We thank everyone who participated, including the more than 20 who shared their research through poster presentations.
