Four years after graduating from Pomona College with a degree in politics, Gabby Herzig ’21 now covers golf as a staff writer at The Athletic—the sports vertical of The New York Times.

James Solomon ’06 developed a love for public service while majoring in public policy analysis at Pomona College. He has been a city councilman in Jersey City, New Jersey since 2017 and is now running for mayor. 

Sharon Russell ’52, who recently died at 93, ensures her passion for education and advocacy will live on at Pomona with a generous bequest gift of more than $1.75 million to the College.

While the NCAA Woman of the Year award recognizes individual excellence in academics, leadership and community service, Alexandra Turvey '24 sees herself as a product of her college environment. She is the first Sagehen to receive the honor.
