Accessibility Resources and Services (ARS)
Student Affairs at Pomona College fosters the holistic development of students by focusing on personal and social responsibility, co-curricular education, and community engagement on and off campus. We are committed to nurturing an engaged, thriving, safe and healthy community that is responsive to student needs.
The Accessibility Resources and Services (ARS) in the Dean of Students office is committed to providing equal access and reasonable accommodations, where appropriate, for qualified disabled students. The College will continue to develop and coordinate policies and procedures, provide services, and insure access to academic programs, activities, and facilities.
Goals for Disability Resources and Services
- To partner with students to achieve their academic goals and graduate from Pomona College
- Facilitate the transition from high school to college
- Serve as a campus resource for student, faculty and staff
- Support students to understand their strengths, self-advocate, participate in leadership opportunities and develop their total self.
The Dean of Students/Disability Coordinator adheres to strict standards of confidentiality in the management of student information. Since ARS is the only holder of disability documentation, all disability-related documentation should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pomona College recognizes that accommodations may be required in order to assist individuals in maximizing their educational experience. While the college provides reasonable accommodations, we do not change essential academic requirements. Accommodation determinations are based on documentation and individualized needs assessment. To learn more about registering with ARS, please view more information on our apply for accommodation services page.
