Pomona College welcomes our new faculty!
We can’t wait to see you at New Faculty Orientation! Think of it as your backstage pass to navigating Pomona’s academic culture and administrative ins and outs, so you can hit the ground running. We want to connect you with essential resources and great colleagues from day one. We want to help you succeed. Think of us as peers, cheerleaders, and occasionally tech support.
This year’s New Faculty Orientation will be a two-day event. On Monday, August 24, we invite new faculty to a “Tech Orientation” that includes interactive workshops introducing you to Canvas and how to manage PERMS, enter grades, schedule classes. The workshops will be led by our amazing teams in ITS and the Registrar’s office. Monday will conclude with a mixer at the Hive for new faculty from all seven Claremont Colleges.
Tuesday will be a full day of programs, from Building Community at Pomona College to Assessment and Evaluation in the Age of AI. Throughout the course of the day, you will get to meet each other as well as faculty and staff on the campus. The day will conclude with a reception at the Courtyard of the Benton Museum of Art for you, Pomona College’s new faculty.
