One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History
Job Description: The Art History Department at Pomona College invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure track, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor in Early Modern Art History (1400–1800 CE), beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will join a dynamic academic community in which small class sizes and direct mentorship of students are encouraged. The position is full-time and has a teaching load of five courses for the academic year. Applicants with expertise in European, Mediterranean, British, and Latin American art history are especially welcome to apply. The position has a teaching load of five courses over two semesters. The Art History Department at Pomona College participates in the Joint Program in Art History that includes Scripps and Pitzer Colleges. The Art History Department also enjoys a collaborative relationship with the Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College, the Williamson Art Gallery at Scripps College, and the Pitzer College Art Galleries.

Teaching Experience: Preferred either as instructor of record or years as a teaching assistant.

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$80,000 and is commensurate with years in rank and teaching experience.

One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology
Job Description: The Sociology Department at Pomona College in Claremont, CA invites applications for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professorship, beginning fall 2026. The position has a teaching load of five courses for the year: three core courses and two electives. Areas of specialization are open, but preference will be given to candidates who can teach electives currently not offered by the Claremont Colleges as well as multiple sections of introduction to sociology. One-Year Visiting Instructor/Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Analysis
Job Description: The Environmental Analysis Department at Pomona College invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure track, Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor of Environmental Science and Environmental Analysis. The position is full-time and has a teaching load of five courses for the academic year. The successful candidate will teach and further develop the following courses: Introduction to Environmental Analysis; Environmental Science: Sciences that Resist the Eurocene (project-based, interdisciplinary); and, a GIS-focused course offered in collaboration with the EA Program and the Claremont Colleges community.
